Inertial switch

A safety system that has been mandatory on all vehicles for many years, which is designed to interrupt the flow of fuel in the event of a collision in order to avoid fires, explosions and, in any case, unwanted leaks of flammable liquid.

It is generally calibrated to operate in the event of a collision at speeds in excess of 25 km / h and should only be reset after impact if the vehicle can be reused.
