For the first time, the concept of a crossover Infiniti QX30 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. Already in 2016, the manufacturer presented a serial version. Compared to the concept model, the novelty has a less aggressive exterior design. At the same time, the designers kept the appearance of the car attractive, thanks to which the manufacturer was able to attract more young people to the circle of admirers of their models.

The 30 Infiniti QX2016 is based on the platform that underlies the Mercedes-Benz GLA. The crossover can be equipped with front or all-wheel drive. Depending on the transmission, the car can also receive a package for overcoming light off-road conditions.

Under the hood of the crossover, one of two modifications of a 1.6-liter turbo four or a two-liter atmospheric gasoline unit can be installed. Of the diesels, two engines are offered with a volume of 1.5 and 2.1 liters. The units are paired with an automatic 6-speed gearbox or a 7-position preselective robot.
