The history of the car brand Nissan

Nissan is a Japanese automobile manufacturing company. The headquarters is located in Tokyo. It occupies a priority place in the auto industry and is one of the three leaders in the Japanese auto industry after Toyota. The field of activity is diverse: from cars to motor boats and communication satellites.

The emergence of a huge corporation at the moment has not been stable throughout history. Constant changes of owners, reorganizations and various amendments to the brand name. The very foundation took place in the process of reorganization of two Japanese companies in 1925: Kwaishinsha Co., the specificity of which was the production of Dat cars and Jitsuo Jidosha Co, which inherited the elements of the name of the second, the new company was called Dat Jidosha Seizo, the first word of which denotes the brand of cars produced.

In 1931 the company became one of the Tobata Casting divisions founded by Yoshisuke Aikawa. But it was the very process of development that the company received in 1933, when Yoshisuke Ayukawa became the owner. And in 1934 the name was changed to the recognizable Nissan Motor Co.

The history of the car brand Nissan

A huge car manufacturing plant was created, but the catch was that the young company did not have any experience and technology to produce its own production. Ayukawa asked for partner help. The first cooperation with General Motors was unsuccessful due to the imposed ban by the Japanese authorities.

Ayukawa signed a cooperation agreement with the American William Gorham, who soon took over as chief designer of the Dat automobile brand, and a little later, Nissan.

Gorham provided tremendous assistance, buying out from an American company on the verge of bankruptcy and providing Nissan with the necessary technical equipment and high-quality employees.

Production of Nissan soon began. But the first cars made their release under the name Datsun (but the release of this brand was produced until 1984), in 1934 he showed the world the Nissanocar, which won the title of a budget model.

The history of the car brand Nissan

There was a modernization of the technological process, technical progress was made in some production moments of the change from manual labor to mechanical.

1935 made the company famous with the release of the Datsun 14. It was the company's first car produced with a sedan body, and on the hood was a miniature of a metal bunny jumping. The idea behind this figurine equates to the high speed of the car. (For those times, 80 km / h was considered an extremely high speed).

The company entered the international market and the machines were exported to the countries of Asia and America.

And by the beginning of World War II, the company was already producing more than 10 thousand passenger cars.

During the war, the vector of production changed, rather it became diverse: from ordinary passenger cars to military trucks, in addition, the company also produced power units for army aviation. 1943 new changes: the company expanded by opening another plant, and was now also referred to as Nissan Heavy Industries.

The factories of the company did not particularly feel the heavy burden of the war and remained intact, but the production part, a fairly good part of the equipment, was confiscated during the occupation for almost 10 years, which notably hit production. Thus, many enterprises that entered into contracts with a car sales company broke them up and entered into new ones with Toyota.

Since 1949, a return to the old company name has been characteristic.

From 1947, Nissan regained most of its strength and resumed production of Datsun passenger cars, and from the early 1950s the company actively deepened its search for new production technologies and a couple of years later an agreement was signed with Austin Motor Co., which in turn contributed to the release of the first Austin in 1953. And two years earlier, the first off-road vehicle with all-wheel drive, the Patrol, was produced. The upgraded version of the SUV was soon popular in the UN.
