Non-toxic means that no harmful irritants, poisons or chemicals are included. Due to the nature of tracer dyes (mixed with water sources) it is absolutely essential to make them non-toxic.
What does "food" mean?
A food is something that has been certified by food standardization agencies as fit for human consumption. Since tracing dyes are mixed into water and plumbing systems, it is important that they are not made from any harmful ingredients or contaminants (do not use tracing paint, though!)
