What parts does the riveter consist of?
Content
Riveter's handle | ||
The handle provides users with a comfortable grip when squeezing for setting rivets.
Riveter handle lock | ||
A lock secures both handles together for easy storage of the riveter.
Rivet handles with long handles
Rivets are available with long handles to allow users to set rivets with two hands. The arms provide additional reach and the ability to apply more pressure when squeezing the handles.
Riveter pistol grip | ||
This handle is similar to a pistol grip. The ergonomic handle has finger grooves for a comfortable and secure grip when setting rivets.
Riveter with handle for one hand
This type of handle, fitted to pop-up body riveters (see below), allows one-handed riveting. Has finger grooves for a comfortable grip.
Collector of riveters | ||
The mandrel comes off when the rivet is installed. On some types of riveters, the mandrels are stored in a container between the handles, known as the mandrel collector, which prevents them from being thrown around the work area.
Head riveter | ||
The heads of many riveters can rotate 360 degrees, allowing the bit to be positioned at any angle while the handles remain in a user-friendly position.
nose riveter | ||
The spout holds the nozzle, which is used to hold the rivet while it is being installed.
Riveter long nose | ||
On some models, a longer nose provides additional access to the recesses.
Nozzle for a riveter | ||
The nozzle is the part of the riveter that grips and pulls the mandrel while the rivet is being set. The bits are interchangeable so they can be used with different sized rivets.
Adjustable rivet head | ||
Adjustable nozzles can work with four sizes. Turning the nozzle changes the size.
Riveter | ||
The wrench is usually attached to the body of the riveter. It can be detached and used to loosen or tighten the various sized nozzles attached to the nose of some types of riveters.
Riveter body extension
An extension body is used on some types of riveters. The body lengthens and then slides back on itself to install rivets. |
