What are the parts of a spring clamp?

	As a rule, a spring clip has a very simple design and consists of only three main parts.
Jaws
	The spring clamp has two jaws that are responsible for holding the workpiece during work operations. They are usually made of plastic or rubber to protect any material from being damaged during clamping.
	The type of jaws on the spring clip can be different. Some models have jaws that close parallel to each other, while others use the pinch method, where the jaws close only at the tip. There are also models with swiveling jaws, which means that the jaws will move at the optimum angle to adapt to the shape of the workpiece being clamped.
Pens
	The spring clip also has two handles. They extend from the jaws and are shaped to allow the jaws to be adjusted as they move.
	Some handles are offset so that when squeezed, they open their jaws wide. In this type, the spring provides clamping force and pressure on the handles when the user releases the clamp.
	Alternatively, the handles may criss-cross and thus close the jaws when squeezed. Here the user creates a clamping force by pushing the handles together until the jaws are in the desired position.
	The clip will have a built-in lever or ratchet that will snap into place to hold the jaws in place. After completing the intended work with the workpiece, you can press the lever to quickly release the jaws. Spring
	The spring clamp has a coil spring located at the center pivot point. On models with offset handles, a spring holds the jaws closed until pressure is applied to them when the user slides the handles together. In crossover models, a weaker spring works in reverse, keeping the jaws open.
Additional parts
	Adjustable jaws Some spring clamps have a small bar that allows you to move one jaw along the bar so that the jaws open wider. Other models have two slats, one for each jaw, allowing the jaws to open even wider. The jaws can be moved along the shaft until they are in the optimal position for gripping the workpiece in the hand.
	Quick release lever Some spring clamps are also equipped with a quick release lever for an even faster and more efficient clamping method. The lever locks with a notched latch, holding the jaws in place when the handles are pushed together. When the lever is pressed, it quickly releases the jaws, allowing the workpiece to be quickly removed.
