Saddle for axle stand | ||
The saddle supports the load to be lifted. The angle of the car's axle is inside the curved saddle.
axle center post | ||
Each stand has a central column. The picture on the left shows two central columns from two different axes. The one on the left contains a ratchet that allows the stand to be adjusted, while the column on the right contains adjustment holes.
Axle legs | ||
The large feet help spread the load when the car is placed on each saddle.
Axle strut safety pin | ||
Near the top of the center tube is a safety pin that goes through the saddle arm for adjustment. Once slotted, the pin acts as a locking system.

The center tube is inserted into the center post for adjustment. Legs are also attached to the central tube.
Axle stand lock lever (ratchet)
The lock lever is attached to a pawl that locks into the teeth of the saddle lever. Raising the lever allows you to adjust the height of the stands.
axle strut pawl | ||
The pawl is located inside the center post of the stand and attached to the locking lever. The pawl is a pivoting lever shaped to engage with the ratchet teeth on the saddle lever to lock the lever in place.
Rack on the axle folding legs
Some axle stands have compact folding legs for easy storage. |
