Jaguar F-Type undergoes anti-aging treatment

Jaguar has unveiled an updated F-Type. It's been 7 years since the currently released version debuted, so it's about time for a change. There are a lot of them, but it's worth starting with style. The new F-Type is not only updated, but also more mature.

The British, through social networks, presented their sports offer in a very interesting way, as befits a Jaguar.

We have long known that the debuts of this brand are full of pathos. When the F-Pace was introduced in 2015, the driver did a full 360-degree circuit. Let me remind you that the F-Pace most often takes children to school or managers on the track.

In the case of F-Type’a after the rise, such a big event was not expected, because it is only a refreshment, not a debut. The brand, however, rekindled fans' hopes by announcing that the premiere is prepared with the Hot Wheels brand - that of tracks and collectible cars.

Personally, I was looking forward to 20:00 and, frankly, I was a little disappointed because the producer was not broadcasting live. There were no grand stunts either, but the creativity of the Jaguar PR team cannot be denied. Huge Hot Wheels track and a small resistor (of course new F-type) have gone through, showing the various stages of body formation. In fact, as I write this today, I think it's even better than some stunt show. The best way to see it for yourself is on the official YouTube channel of the brand.

Updated Jaguar F-Type is a more mature car

Here comes the premiere, let's move on to the looks, it's not only the most important change in the Birmingham athlete, but also a show of skill that only reinforces my love for the brand's image. Not like the previous one F-Type he was ugly but he always was jaguar, lower level Aston Martin. And many will say that this is still the case, but we must admit that the appearance of the updated version is much more adult. Overall Jaguar has become more mature, thoughtful and does not disappoint, while retaining the best features of its character. Most of the changes have been made to the front of the car, which feels more standardized with Jaguar's other offerings without being boring. If I had to choose between V8 advantage and top F-type, I would take Jaguar.

All stylistic changes were aimed at visually expanding and lengthening the car, which added seriousness to it. The mask is sleeker, more minimalistic and therefore looks very consistent. The car will eventually be offered in three variants and this is also taken into account in the design, the base model will be the simplest, the R-Dynamic can be recognized by its bolder lines and "vanes", and the most powerful R model has large, black, very sporty air intakes on the bumper. As for the rear, there is not much to say here, the entire belt is a little refreshed, but the appearance has not changed. This procedure should emphasize that F-Type this is a very timeless project. The sideline is clearly different, but that's because of the aforementioned redesigned front end and hood. In addition, there are quite a few subtle changes to make the car more elegant and mature.

What has changed under the hood of the Jaguar F-Type?

Although this is just a facelift, a lot has changed. I mentioned earlier that you can expect three varieties. Until now, the customer had a choice of engines: V6, V8 and R4. The most interesting choice was probably the V6 because it offered more power and was friendly at the same time, while the V8 is wild. The V-567 has been ditched and the focus has been on refining the larger unit, which will be available in two outputs: 444 hp. and 4 hp There is also an R296 engine with XNUMX hp.

It is worth taking a look at the new three-level hierarchy in the context of the drive. The most powerful variant will only be available with all-wheel drive. The intermediate option gives the most opportunities, because all-wheel drive and rear axle drive have yet to be configured. The weakest variety is a rear-wheel drive car, which is quite obvious.

Flagship with 567 hp capable of accelerating to hundreds in 3,5 seconds and reaching 300 km / h. As for the packaging, it is the only one available under the "R" brand. The 444 hp version and the R4 version leave the choice between an intermediate "R-Dynamic" and a basic version. Acceleration to hundreds takes 4,4 seconds and 5,4 seconds, respectively. Weaker V8 will accelerate F-Type’a up to 285 km / h, and the speedometer of the weakest variety stops at around 250 km / h.

Throwing away the V6 may seem silly, because many people may not like the R4 version, and the V8 is a savage. It has been that way until now, but the engineers have been working to make cars friendlier. First, each variant has an active exhaust system, and the eight-cylinder variants that were able to bring the bear out of hibernation have a special quiet mode. Program Director Julian Thomson, who has been actively involved in the development of the concept so far. Jaguar F-Type, described the latest model as "more dramatic than ever, with even more clarity."

Due to the use of such different engines, the weight distribution is quite large. Jaguar F-Type with the R4 engine, it weighs 1520 kg, which is 120 kg lighter than the rear-wheel drive V8. The heaviest, of course, is the flagship in the version with an opening roof, because the scales will show as much as 1760 kilograms.

In the interior, a leap of several years

Currently still in production F-Type project that came out in 2012. It seems not so long ago, but for technology, these are several important changes. 2012 also saw the debut of the iPhone 5, and eleven are currently on offer. Inside F-Type’a therefore it is more modern and the materials used are of better quality. A 12,3-inch driver screen is available. Known from other Jaguar and Land Rover models, the 10-inch Touch Pro finds its way into the center console and offers Apple CarPlay compatibility. Luckily, the engineers weren't thrilled with the screens and decided that basic functions like heating and ventilation controllers were still physical. Jaguar believes that this is an essential part of a good car. Path!

When customizing the car, you can choose between two seat designs: Sport and Performance. Base and R-Dynamic models come standard with sports seats, while Performance comes standard on R and First Edition. They have more pronounced support at shoulder level.

interior Jaguar F-Type it is a friendly environment: low seats, relatively high window line create the feeling that the passengers are "embracing" the car. We do not yet know prices for the Polish market, but we do know that in the UK F-Type it starts at £54,060 and ends at just over £100,000. The cheapest variation with V will cost £ sterling. The prices seem quite reasonable. Unfortunately, in Poland the excise tax will add a good “several thousand” to these prices and F-Type It will again become a very elite car, although it was conceived as such. Are you an Aston Martin? for people.

The first deliveries will start in the first quarter of 2020, but delivery to Polish roads will probably take longer.
