The Jaguar XE draws attention with its sensual line, almost like a coupe, a pleasure to drive and a high level of comfort. Diesel 2.0 with 180 hp – a great engine, powerful enough and not very thirsty. This is a great alternative to German sedans, although used cars depreciate more.

Length 469 cm, width 185 cm. Jaguar XE in the city, it is not as agile as a city car, but not as clumsy either. The Jaguar is 4cm wider and 4cm longer than the BMW 3 Series, but still 6cm shorter than the new Audi A4. In economy or normal mode, the steering and dampers are quite light and make driving extremely smooth and relaxing even in traffic. Soundproofing is good, the seat is comfortable, even if visibility - both front and rear - leaves much to be desired.

However, our car has no parking problems as it has Advanced Parking Assist packages that include a 360-degree camera system with sensors on each side (€ 2612) and a parking package (€ 1918), an automatic parking system similar to parking ... help.
The engine-gearbox combination is also good, with the first flexible and high-torque at any speed, and the second, in automatic mode, disengaging gears as smoothly and quickly as the best dual clutch on the market.
Outside the city
I do not deny there Jaguar XE it won me over. A balanced chassis, low weight and rear-wheel drive are a guarantee of driving pleasure, but in competition with BMW and Mercedes this may not be enough. Luckily, Jaguar engineers have done a great job. Just choose a road with the right turns and Jaguar XE wakes up with a truly unexpected temperament. The steering is fantastic, direct and conveys everything that happens under the wheels, prompting you to pull more and more and draw more and more precise trajectories. This is really a lot of fun. The Jaguar XE is also quite fast, accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 7,8 seconds and reaching 228 km / h.

In this case, there is little to say: Jaguar XE grinds miles with carelessness. The cab is well soundproofed and the driver assistance systems help reduce risk and stress. Some rolling noise is heard, but mostly due to winter tires. Eight gears allow the engine to "run low" and consume little, in fact an octave at 130 km / h moves below 2.000 rpm.
Life on board

The skin is soft and beautiful to the touch and look, andlighting customizable at night makes jaguar a kind of spaceship marked with glowing lines. Compared to the German ones, it has a fresher and more high-tech design, but it slips a little if some trim, for example, the upper part of the trunk is not sheathed, a little ugly plastic, and some imperfect assembly. Overall, however, the visual impression is excellent and the combination of elegance and sportiness is perfect.
Lo space on board, on the other hand, it's good, but not excellent: the steering column is a little annoying on the feet at the highest levels, and behind the coupé line it can create height problems. The trunk also pays the price of a "barely hinted" tail and with a volume of 455 liters remains a notch below its competitors (the segment average is 480 liters).
Price and costs
Price € 44.450 per Jaguar XE R-Sport 180 h.p. with an automatic transmission match the performance of competitors with similar equipment, but when Jaguar is resold it is further depreciated. However, this does not apply to those who buy it on lease or long-term lease (or to those who do not intend to resell). Said it.
