How Bosch makes charging e-bikes easier

The European market leader in electric bike components has invested in its own charging infrastructure network. Until now, it has been concentrated in high mountain regions, but will soon be deployed in urban areas.

Bosch eBike Systems, a manufacturer of e-bike motors founded in 2009 and has grown from a startup to a market leader, has teamed up with the Swabian Travel Association (SAT) and the Münsigen Mobility Center to create the PowerStation. These charging stations are designed to prevent mountain bikers and hikers from breaking down while crossing the mountain range. There are already six stations on the route, each with six cargo compartments.

Cyclists crossing the Swabian Alb can take advantage of the lunch break or visit the castle to charge their electric bike for free. Klaus Fleischer, Managing Director of Bosch eBike Systems, explains the ambitions of the project: “Let crossing the Swabian Alb, with the advice and services provided by SAT, be an unforgettable e-bike experience for ambitious cyclists.” “

But this new service will not be limited to the Swabian Alb region. Fleischer is already announcing that Bosch “Want to improve charging capabilities not only in resort areas, but also in cities. We are working together with our partners to expand the cycle path network and pave the way for e-bike mobility in the future. ” Other European countries such as Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy also benefit from the PowerStation network from Bosch eBike Systems (see Station Map).
