How to Add a Samsung Galaxy or Apple iPad to Your Car Dashboard with this DIY Detachable Tablet Mount

New film about agent 007, Shower, comes out this Friday, and my dream is to be a super spy. Only I can't afford cool James Bond gadgets or awesome cars - and you probably can't either.

But that doesn't mean you can't fake it a little by adding a touchscreen device to your car. It won't help you fire rockets at shitty drivers on the road, but it will at least make you feel a little better on the drive home from what you see. Shower.

If you don't have time for a deep install like this Samsung Galaxy car mod or replacing your car clock with an iPod nano, you can still tie your ride together in no time without crashing your dashboard, thanks to Instructables user ftree.

All you need is a mobile tablet of your choice, a nice leather case like the one for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, and a flat piece of copper.

Before doing anything, you should first see if there is room for a copper plate. Not all cars have clearance for it. Test it before you buy anything.

If you can, you'll get everything.

You will need to bend the ends of the copper strip so that it fits snugly on the tablet. The ends should be sealed with electrical tape, and the corners should be cut off so as not to damage the tablet.

The next step is to put the strip on the cover. You will insert the strip into the holes at the top and bottom of the tablet case.

Once you have the strip on the case, you can proceed to install the tablet. Mounting and dismantling should be fairly quick and easy.

If you have an audio output, you can connect your tablet to the stereo line-in jack (if you have one) and control your music just like a smartphone. And if you have a Bluetooth connection, you can of course use that connection to control your device.

This should work for most tablets, such as the iPad or Samsung Galaxy Note, as long as you have space in the dash to install copper and a good enough case.
