How did Italian cars win the hearts of users around the world?

Why and why do we love Italian car brands? The answer is certainly not foolproof or practical, because cars from Italy are a bit awkward in that regard. However, they compensate for the shortcomings in this area with a unique style - their appearance is almost an art in itself.

They combine beauty and sometimes problematicity, which makes them very similar to us humans. In other words: they have their own character.

Plus, we probably all agree that Italian car manufacturers have given birth to some of the world's greatest car icons, and brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini and the more affordable Alfa Romeo are favorites of many of us.

Why do we love Italian cars?

We have already shown in the introduction that the “something” that distinguishes Italian cars is hidden in style. After all, we are talking about a country known for its elegance and class, as well as geographically very diverse. If you have the snowy peaks of the northern Alps and at the same time the hot Sicilian Mount Etna, you cannot complain about the atmosphere.

And Italian cars are another manifestation of the unique culture of this country. What does it mean? Firstly, the stylish body design of such a car will surely attract the attention of other drivers, and they will envy you.

But that's not all.

When you get behind the wheel, you will quickly notice that the interior is moving closer to the exterior. Everything is in its place and created under the close attention of Italian designers. And how to pay for this by the absence of such an insignificant thing as, for example, a place for a cup? Well ... we have always known that beauty requires some sacrifice.

It also takes patience, as cars from Italy can be capricious, which is why some drivers immediately cross them off the list of potential purchases. Others believe that this is the basis of their unmistakable nature.

What car brands have Italians treated us to in recent decades? Read on to find out the answer.

An Italian car brand for everyone? Hold

Contrary to looks, Italians do not only produce sports or luxury supercars. Their portfolio also includes brands at very affordable prices that are available to every driver. Thanks to this, you do not have to spend huge sums to enjoy the Italian car culture while traveling on Polish roads.

Among the cheap brands from Italy:

  • Alfa Romeo
  • Fiat
  • A spear

Contrary to stereotypes, none of them are particularly troublesome. Of course, the Italians had less successful models, but the same can be said about manufacturers from any country. Despite a few setbacks, these brands are still trustworthy and won't let you down on the road.

Let's take a closer look at each of them.

Alfa Romeo

If we had to identify the culprit in the number of Italian car failures, we would first turn to Alfa Romeo. This brand has released on the market at least a few unsuccessful models, for which some have received the nickname "Queen of tow trucks".

However, is it worth taking it off the list of cars worth buying for this reason? No.

While some models have failed, others are noteworthy. Moreover, Alfa Romeo stands out among the competitors with original forms that you will immediately notice in the maze of other cars.

Its character cannot be denied, so it is perfect for anyone interested in an Italian car. almost sports. After all, not everyone can afford a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Fiat

When someone in Poland mentions the Fiat brand, the first thing that comes to the mind of the listener is the image of the Fiat 126p, that is, the popular kid. However, this model is only a small part of the long history that the company can boast.

After all, Fiat is one of the oldest Italian car companies. It was founded in 1899 and has been producing cars for us on a regular basis for over a hundred years.

In our country, the Fiat Panda is very popular, which, due to its small shapes and forms, is excellent as a means of transportation in urban environments. Moreover, it is very durable due to its simplicity of execution.

Finally, the Fiat Abarth brand is worth mentioning. What is characteristic of him? Well, the easiest way to describe it is as "Fiat in sports performance." So if you like the brand but are looking for something a little more masculine and more distinctive, Abarth is a great choice for you.

A spear

The list of Italian cars at affordable prices closes the Lancia company, which dates back to 1906. Unfortunately, today it is almost non-existent - almost because only one model of cars is produced. It is called Lancia Ypsilon and is built in …

It might be hard to believe, but in Poland. The Lancia Ypsilon plant is located in Tychy, so by buying this car you are supporting the country's economy in a way.

What makes this car different?

This is another city car - small, agile and simple in design, but therefore very cheap to maintain. At the same time, it attracts attention with its appearance and elegant forms, which are part of the brand's tradition. Lancia cars have always had an interesting appearance.

Luxurious and with character - Italian sports cars

Moving on to what tigers love the most, which is the most popular (and slightly less popular) supercars from hot Italy.

Ferrari

Both the name and the logo of a black horse on a yellow background are known all over the world - and this is not surprising, because we are talking about perhaps the most iconic Italian brand. Ferrari entered the market in 1947 and has given us experience in the automotive industry ever since.

The success of the company is evidenced by the fact that today it has practically become synonymous with the luxury sports car. When you hear the slogan "expensive supercars", Ferrari is likely to be one of the first associations that come to your mind.

For a good reason. Beautiful shapes, powerful engines and mind-boggling prices have captured the imagination of car enthusiasts the world over - and beyond - for years. The Ferrari logo is a symbol of luxury in other areas of life as well, so it guarantees the highest quality in every item it appears on. It doesn't matter if we are talking about cars or perfumes, clothes or even furniture.

Lamborghini

Ferrari's direct competitor in the automotive world is another Italian manufacturer of luxury sports and racing cars, Lamborghini.

Bold, fast and attractive wherever they go. These are cars with the bull logo on the body. It cannot be denied that the founders chose a suitable animal to represent their company, given the speed and power of their vehicles.

However, the relationship with the bull does not end there. Most of the models are named after the famous bulls that fought in the Spanish arenas. This was the mistake of the founder of the company, who really liked the bullfight.

The company is based in the small town of Sant'Agata Bolognese in northern Italy, unchanged since 1963. It was then that Lamborghini began its history.

Because it competes with Ferrari, it has also become synonymous with luxury, wealth and, of course, breakneck speed.

Maserati

The company was founded in 1914 by four brothers who fell in love with the automotive industry thanks to their fifth older brother. He developed his own internal combustion engine for motorcycles. He also took part in the races of these cars.

Unfortunately, he was unable to found the company by the other brothers because he contracted tuberculosis and died in 1910, four years before Maserati was founded.

There was also a sixth brother. The only one who did not see the future in the automotive industry. However, he also contributed to the founding of the company as he designed an eye-catching trident logo. The company uses it to this day.

Maserati has been associated with racing since its inception and little has changed over the years. Even with the arrival of new owners, the manufacturer has retained its original identity and continues to produce powerful, fast and (of course) Italian luxury sports cars.

Pagani

Finally, another Italian sports car brand, slightly less popular than its predecessors. Pagani (because we are talking about this manufacturer) is a small production founded by Horatio Pagani.

Although he doesn't visit showrooms as often as Ferrari or Lamborghini, he defends himself with talent, knowledge and passion for the automotive industry. You will see this best in the cars of this manufacturer, which can be a real work of art and often confuse the competition.

Beautiful, durable and refined car models - this is Pagani. The company has been operating since 1992 and is considered more elite due to lower recognition.

Celebrities - What's their favorite Italian sports car brand?

Ordinary bakers are not the only ones who dreamily look at cars from Italy. Many movie, music and sports stars also have a weakness for their forms, speed and character.

Some of the pioneers in this field were Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen, who put some of the first Ferrari models in their garages. In addition, McQueen encouraged his colleague James Coburn to experience the fun of driving a black horse cart as well.

As for other brands, Rod Steward fell in love with Lamborghini, John Lennon rode around with his Iso Fidia, and Alfa Romeo became the favorites of screen stars such as Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.

On the other hand, the Lancia Aurelia was a very popular car in the sports world. He was chosen by many of the 1950 Grand Prix racers, including world champion Mike Hawthorne and Juan Manuel Fangio.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the fashion star Heudi Klum, who took part in a photo shoot with various Maserati models in 2014. Its beauty has added shine to cars that are already full of their appearance.

As you can see, every Italian car brand has its enthusiasts - regardless of their position on the social ladder.

Italian sports car and its charm - summary

High-quality interior trim and original delightful body shapes - it's no wonder that cars from Italy so often win automotive beauty contests. However, not only in this area they are doing well.

Each Italian luxury sports car brand has its own unique character, which is expressed in the engine. The power units of supercars regularly break new performance records, and the quality of their workmanship leaves much to be desired. The dizzying speed is inherent in their throbbing blood octane.

What about Sunday drivers? Will Italian cars also work?

Well, of course; naturally. Concerns from Italy do not forget about ordinary people, and also produce affordable cars. So, whether you are interested in an Italian sports car brand or an everyday car brand, you can count on driving pleasure and reliability (barring a few unfortunate models, of course.
