How to get rid of fogging windows
Content
Windows fogging is not only an unpleasant phenomenon for drivers. Condensation on the windshield makes driving less comfortable and can even cause an accident on the road. There are different methods of combating fogging, but not all of them are equally effective. More often than not, multiple measures are required to achieve maximum effect.
Adjusting the air conditioning system
If condensation starts to appear on the windows and, in addition, they are sweating from the inside, the first thing you need to do is check the settings of the air conditioning system. Also, do not forget about blowing out the windows by directing the fan deflectors in the right direction. If the air conditioning system does not cope quickly with fogging, you need to check the cabin filter. It often happens that the entire system does not work well just because it has already become dirty or has absorbed a lot of moisture.
Ventilation check
Practice shows that very often problems with condensate arise due to a malfunction, excessive pollution or damage to the ventilation system. For example, during body repairs, ventilation may be damaged. In addition, it may be blocked by something, for example, some objects in the cabin or trunk. As part of the inspection, it is also worth assessing the condition of the drain holes in the air conditioning system. It is not superfluous to check the engine cooling system - its failure often causes condensation to form on the windows for no apparent reason.
Folk remedies or store goods
Of course, in the fight against fogging windows, you can use various "folk" remedies or goods from the store. The choice of both is very rich. In stores, first of all, you should pay attention to special wipes, as well as sprays and aerosols that are applied to windows to prevent fogging. These detergents work very simply - a film appears on the glass. You can make such a protector at home - you just need to mix 1 part of glycerin and 10 parts of alcohol.
Remove excess moisture
Keep in mind that humidity in the passenger compartment also causes condensation to form on the windows. First of all, this applies to the autumn-winter period, when water or snow remains on the insoles, which gradually begins to melt. If you do not want condensation to form, you should immediately get rid of this excess moisture. There is a very effective "folk" method that will help you with this. All you need is cat litter, which you put into a flat container and leave it in the car overnight. The moisture will be absorbed in the morning.
Placement of special film
One of the most cardinal ways to deal with condensation on windows is to use a special film that covers all the glass. This is exactly the same film that is used to protect motorcycle helmets from moisture and condensation. It is applied in the same way as toning. However, it is best that this manipulation is carried out by specialists.
