How to Buy a Quality Rear Seat Baby Monitor

Parents know how difficult it is to keep their little ones safe. This certainly applies to traveling by car. You should be able to keep an eye on your child at all times, but you can't use the rearview mirror to do this (you have to hold it at an angle to see out the rear window). A baby monitor in the back seat can help.

When comparing rear seat monitors, you have several options. For example, you may be happy with a baby car mirror. On the other hand, you may prefer a video monitor with a display on the dashboard. Here is more information on two:

  • MirrorsA: Mirrors come in a wide variety of styles, sizes and shapes. However, almost all of them use suction cups to attach to the back glass. Larger mirrors provide a better view to the rear, but may reduce visibility through the rear window. Using these mirrors also means that at least part of your view in the rearview mirror is blocked. The other mirrors are attached to the rear seat headrest so they do not block the view from the rear window.

  • Video monitors: Baby monitors available. One format is to use a video camera inserted into a soft toy. The scarecrow has clips (usually in the hands / paws) that allow you to fix it on the headrest. The camera sends an image of your child to a monitor that is attached to the dashboard at the front of the car. It may be a better option (though more expensive) than a mirror, simply because you don't have to worry about adjusting your rear view mirror.

With the right baby monitor in the back seat, you'll sleep peacefully knowing your little one is safe and sound.
