How to buy a quality sun visor

Sunblinds protect you from sun glare while driving, or protect your steering wheel and dashboard from heat and light when you're parked. There are several types of sun visors on the market - you can purchase replacement sun visors for your car if the ones supplied by the automaker are worn or damaged. You can also find aftermarket sunshades that attach to the inside of windows. They are available in two types: you can choose between fixed position solid curtains or retractable screen curtains.

Purchasing a high quality sun visor will provide your passengers with protection from bright sunlight while driving. Make sure you buy a good quality product that can withstand UV rays.

  • A typeA: First of all, make sure you choose the right type of sun visor. A fixed-position sunshade can be a good choice if you want to protect an infant in a car seat, but an older child or adult passenger will probably appreciate a roll-down sunshade.

  • UV resistance: UV radiation will degrade the lampshade material over time. Look for shades that are rated for UV resistance (this should be stated on the packaging).

  • Shape and Size: you will find sunshades in various shapes designed for different types of windows. Make sure the shape you choose is right for your window. You also need to make sure it's the right size (a wider or taller window on an SUV or full-size sedan will require a different sun visor than a rear-passenger window on a subcompact car). If you're looking for a windshield sunshade, make sure it fits your car (check the specifications on the packaging).

A properly fitted sun visor will extend the life of your vehicle and protect your occupants.
