I decided to share my experience of buying a used Kalina for my friend. He had only 200 rubles of money, so they did not consider new ones, and went to choose among used cars. At first, he did not want to look at Kalina in any way, but after looking at the rusty dozens of 000, he decided that Kalina would be the perfect option.

Where did you look for a used car?

The first step was to look for ads for the sale of cars on local ad sites, but for some reason there were no suitable options there. There were several copies, but too expensive for us.

Of course, there were more options on AUTO.RU, but even there there was nothing interesting, oddly enough. And the prices left much to be desired. Advertisement newspapers are a passed stage and we did not find anything sensible except for a couple of advertisements.

But on Avito there were quite a few ads and there were several proposals that interested us. Below I will tell you in more detail about the two Ladas Kalinas, which we considered exactly what we stopped at.

What to look for when buying?

So, the first car produced in 2008 with a mileage of 89 kilometers according to the owner and the odometer counter. But don't blindly believe the words. Look at the condition of the car and especially the engine and find your bearings. The compression in the cylinders was measured and it was from 000 to 10 atmospheres, depending on the cylinder. Such a spread suggests that not everything is in order with the motor and the indicated mileage was clearly wound up.

When inspecting the bodywork, carefully check the welds and factory spot welds. This is especially evident in the photo below, which shows Kalina without getting into an accident:

If these points were not found during inspection, then there is a 100% chance that the front end was broken. Also, there are similar marks on the Kalina doors, as well as in the rear of the body, clearly shown below:

After inspecting the body of the first car, no flaws were found, but the driver's glass was already changing, and why is unknown! In general, taking into account the fact that the engine is not the first freshness and there are minor nuances in the body and glazing, we refused to buy at this stage.

Then we decided to look at a slightly more expensive option and looked after the 2010 Kalina Sedan in the “standard” configuration. Of course, there was no electric power steering and other electronics, but for a novice driver - this is the best option - fewer maintenance problems.

The owner of the car was alone, and he is already aged, so this is a big plus. As for the engine, the measured compression showed that there were 13 atmospheres in each cylinder, which is an excellent indicator. By the way, I forgot to say for the run - 30 according to the owner and the meter. And judging by the state of the internal combustion engine, this is true.

There was nothing to complain about the bodywork, since the car was in the garage all year round, and it was heated. So there is no rust, no scratches, in general - a body as soon as from a car dealership.

 

After we rode it, I wanted to buy it even more. The suspension is excellent, nothing rattles anywhere, the car is responsive and pleasantly swallows bumps on the road! In general, we had to bargain a bit and we bought it for 210 rubles, which is just a gift for such a state!
