How to set up the machine? Choose a car that stands on the square, use packages or pick up a package individually?

Choosing a car is not an easy task, and if we decide on a specific model, then we face the dilemma of which engine we need and what equipment we need.

When choosing a car, a lot depends on what budget we have for buying a car, but even if we have a large amount, choosing a model and its equipment is still not easy. There is also the question of whether to buy a car that is already in the showroom, or to identify the needs of the seller and wait for the order to be completed.

The first option is convenient because we get the car “on the spot” and can use the new car almost immediately. However, not too many buyers make this choice. Why? There are many reasons, but the main ones include the wrong color of paint or upholstery, too rich or too modest equipment, not such an engine. The car "on the spot" is usually bought by institutional buyers and companies that need the car "for the time being".

On the other hand, the popularity of buying a ready-made car, waiting for a buyer, increases during sales, when car companies announce special promotions. Then you can buy a well-equipped car at a bargain price.

However, most buyers choose the option of choosing the version and equipment of the car. And here they have two options: use the packages offered by the manufacturer, or customize the car individually. Packages are a convenient solution, because the buyer receives a set of equipment at a bargain price. Let's see what the leader of the Polish car market, the Skoda brand, offers.

__ ++We are interested in offering two of the best-selling models in the domestic market, Fabia and Octavia. For this first model, we opted for the 1.0 TSI 110 hp petrol version, with the best-equipped and priced Ambiente version. Standard in this version, the car has steel wheels. The cheapest set of aluminum wheels costs PLN 2150. But if we choose the Mixx promo package for the PLN, we get 15-inch aluminum wheels, as well as rear parking sensors and a twilight sensor. If we chose the last two items separately, we would pay PLN 1100 for the parking sensor and PLN 150 for the twilight sensor.

Another example is the Audio package, which includes a Swing radio (with Bluetooth, color touchscreen, SD, USB, AUX-IN inputs, phone control through the radio screen), two additional speakers at the rear of the Skoda Surround system and three multifunction leather steering wheels with spokes ( with radio and telephone control buttons). This package costs PLN 1550, and in the individual configuration the steering wheel itself costs PLN 1400. So the benefit is undeniable.

Similar examples can be found in the offering of Skoda's second hit, the Octavia. We checked the package deals for the Octavia 1.4 TSI 150 KM in the Ambition version. In this case, the Amazing package is offered for PLN 1100, which includes: Climatronic dual-zone automatic air conditioning, Bolero 8 radio with SD and USB inputs, front and rear parking sensors with distance visualization on the radio screen, cruise control, rearview mirror. with humidity sensor and Smart Link + function for joint work of car and smartphone. If the above items of equipment had to be selected separately, then you will have to pay PLN 1850 for the Climatronic itself, and PLN 1200 for the parking sensors. Cruise control and Smart Link + cost PLN 700 each, while a mirror with a humidity sensor costs PLN 100.

Of course, not everyone is satisfied with the equipment offered in packages. One customer will be happy with, for example, Climatronic, but may decide that he does not need Smart Link. There are also some customers who want the salesperson's hints about what equipment will meet their expectations. In such cases, a potential buyer does not even have to go to a car dealership to find out what equipment he can order for the selected model. Everything can be checked online. For example, the website www.skoda-auto.pl has a virtual configurator, thanks to which you can complete the car according to your needs. It clearly lists the body and engine versions of each model, as well as equipment including packages. What's more, you can also use the "recommended options" tooltips, which can make your choice of equipment much easier. The selected configuration can be saved in the computer's memory and printed out as a text file. With such a document, you can go to a Skoda car dealership and present your expectations to the seller.
