How to pay for parking using Google Maps

Google Maps now allows you to pay for parking spaces in over 400 cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Washington.

Google, in collaboration with parking solution providers Passport y ParkMobile, has developed a new way to easily pay for parking meters with one click in the app.

How it works ?

Go to Google Maps and touch where it says Pay for parking which appears when you are near your destination.

- Enter the number of the parking meter -

– Enter the amount of time you want to park.

– Finally, click Pay.

If you find yourself in the need to extend the parking time, you only need to enter Google Maps and extend the time you need.

Now the application allows you to pay for parking spaces in more than 400 cities around the world. New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Washington.

- Android users will also soon be able to purchase transit passes from Google Maps. If you're traveling on a compatible public transportation line, like the New York City MTA, for example, you'll see a message that allows you to pay your fare in advance. Parking fees began rolling out on Wednesday, February 17th on Android phones, with iOS coming soon.
