How To: Identify Jeep Rear Axle to Replace

RichPin shows you how to identify the rear axle on a Jeep Grand Cherokee in order to identify the correct replacement part. The first thing to do is identify the axle by cleaning the fill plug on the rear cap. Look at the inscription on the fork to find out the style of the back. In this example, Rich has a "Dana" style back. To determine if it is a 35 or 44 Dana look at the website to the right of the plug to find the number. The two steps in this video will allow you to identify the back of your Jeep should you ever need to replace it.
