How to lower your motorcycle when you are small?

Are you short and can't find the right bike or the bike of your dreams is too tall for you? There are solutions! From lowering kit in style dug saddle, you can get from a few millimeters to a few centimeters.

Solution 1: Buy a lowering kit.

Today we find many lowering kits which allows you to save up to 5 cm, manufacturers even offer original ones. Be careful not to buy any kit, it is different for each bike, model and year.

Principle lowering kits change kernel suspension on the rear shock absorber to add a few millimeters. The longer the links, the lower the motorcycle will be.

To balance everything, also adjust the height fork tubes in t-shirts in front. For example, you want to assemble the tubes to half the millimeters from the factory. rear suspension... For example, if you get 40mm from the back, raise the pipes only 20mm.

Solution 2: dig out the saddle

One solution is to do dig a saddle... This has the advantage of not changing the original motorcycle settings and hence its default behavior. On the other hand, depending on the thickness removed, this can affect the comfort level. In order not to affect comfort, a layer of gel that is less thick than regular foam can be inserted into the saddle.

Depending on the initial thickness of the saddle and the foam removed, you can gain up to 6 cm.

Also note that the simple fact that the saddle is thinning at the crotch level allows the legs to touch for those who are just a few millimeters short.

Solution 3: Adjust the shock absorber

This decision remains delicate as preloading the shock absorber changes the motorcycle's behavior. To gain a few millimeters on the back, it is enough unload spring... On the other hand, by unloading the spring, the bike becomes much more flexible. It is recommended that you consult with a specialist before making these adjustments.

Note that you can also completely replace the shock with a shorter one, but you will have to pay for that.

Solution 3. Buy a low bike

Another much simpler solution: buy an already adapted motorcycle!

Many motorcycles are also low in stock and can be serviceable without modification. This is especially true in the case of Honda CB 500 F presented in the article “Honda CB 500 F, women’s favorite motorcycle?” Or Suzuki 650 Gladius.

There are also many bikes in the aftermarket that have already gone through some modifications, so you don't have to do anything!
