How to disable traction control in BMW i3 / BMW i3s? [VIDEO] • CARS

The electric BMW i3 / i3s has an advanced and very precise traction control system. Despite the powerful engine and rear-wheel drive, the car practically does not drift. However, traction control can be temporarily disabled. How to do it? See:

To temporarily deactivate the traction control in the BMW i3 for a period of time until the next switching off / on the car, you must:

  1. Start the car with the brake applied.
  2. Hold the odometer reset button on the odometer for 10-15 seconds to enter the service menu.
  3. Press the daily mileage reset button twice to enter the option. 03 Starter Cinematic.
  4. Hold the daily mileage button to enter the options 03 Starter Cinematic.
  5. Press the daily mileage reset button to deactivate the traction control (DSC) on the BMW i3.
  6. Click OK three times.

Using the aforementioned option also disables regenerative braking, so the car will continue to roll much farther after taking its foot off the accelerator than in the normal configuration. ABS will also be disabled.
