How to open the car if the keys are inside? The battery is dead and the alarm does not work, the lock is frozen
Many drivers suffer from forgetfulness, which is why they often face the fact that the car doors are slammed, and the key remains in the ignition. What to do in this case? Luckily, there are plenty of ways to get into a car without a key.
Contacting specialists
The easiest way, but this service will be expensive, the cost will depend on the car model. In principle, car openers will easily open both the VAZ-2101 and the latest model of some Rolls-Royce. In the latter case, they will have to tinker, as the Premium class car has many levels of protection. You can open the doors using various improvised means:

The algorithm of actions will be the same: pull out the seal in the area of the door handle, insert a ruler into the slot and look for the thrust with the pusher, which are responsible for closing the doors. Pull the link up and the door will unlock.
A rope loop can be used if the button on the door protrudes upwards. You will have to bend the corner of the door with something massive so that the rope goes inside. Then, with gentle movements, try to hook the loop on the button and pull it up. Don't forget to cover the edges of the door and counter with duct tape, or at least put some cardboard or fabric on it so that you don't damage the paint while bending it.
As you can see, the door mechanism is not too complicated, which is why for professional hijackers, opening any car is not a difficult task. Even a beginner can complete this task in a few minutes. Just do not forget to turn off the alarm, unless, of course, the hood is locked, otherwise you will have to explain to law enforcement officials that you are opening your own car, and not someone else's.
Open car with central locking
The methods described above can also be tried for cars manufactured after 2003-2006, but still they are more suitable for "bolt bowls". If you have a central lock, it can be unlocked by pulling the handle several times from the inside. If you slide a wire or rope inside so that they reach the handle, just pull it twice and the doors will open. This method can only be used with a charged battery.
By the way, even if you have not forgotten the keys inside, sometimes it is problematic to open a car with a central lock and a dead battery, because the door lock is rarely used and it “sours” from prolonged disuse, or freezes in the cold.
In this case, there are several ways:
- connection of another battery;
- supplying power to the generator, if you open the hood is also not possible;
- hook the hood cable to open the hood and connect to the battery;
- bending doors with a wooden wedge or a special inflatable pillow.
By connecting to a battery or generator, you supply power to the vehicle's electrical network and get the opportunity to unlock the central lock with a key fob (if you have one) or any of the above methods.
By prying on the hood cable, you can open its cover. The cable runs under the left fender and you need to hook it in the area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbthe headlight or radiator. You will have to unscrew the engine protection from below, and for this you need to raise the car with a jack and securely fix it on stands.
You can bend the edge of the hood or door with an inflatable rubber pillow. When deflated, it slips into the slot and inflates, expanding the gap through which you can try to reach the battery contacts or the buttons on the doors.
Destructive methods
If all else fails, there are several options left:
- break glass;
- drill a lock cylinder;
- get in through the trunk.

Having drilled a larva or a secret, the doors can be easily opened. You can also try any other key or metal blank and force them into the keyhole. Also, some experts argue that the door beacon can rise under the action of air pressure. Take a tennis ball, cut a hole in it and press it against the lock with force. A jet of escaping air is possible and will raise the button.
