Before you start cleaning the seats, you should tidy up the cabin - remove all debris, vacuum thoroughly. And then you need to act depending on the type of seat upholstery.
If the seats are covered with leather or leatherette, then you need to use special products, since the simple use of soap and water will cause cracks to appear on the skin, it will begin to shrink, plaque will form on it.
Cleaning can be wet or dry. When wet cleaning, the gel-like agent is applied to the sponge, and then rubbed into the surface, it is allowed to soak into the coating for some time, and then washed off with a damp cloth.
One important detail - for the skin and the substitute, you need to use a conditioner that will not allow the coating to crack and shrink.
If you are in a hurry and there is no time to dry the interior, then dry cleaning is used when a special agent is rubbed into the skin and then not washed off with a rag. The product completely dissolves all dirt, the remnants of which can be removed with a dry cloth or vacuum cleaner. Such cleaning will take 2-3 hours on the strength.
If the upholstery is fabric, then you can use both automotive chemicals and ordinary washing powders and bleaches, such as Vanish. It must be added to water, moistened with plenty of soft sponge so that there is a lot of foam, then the upholstery is cleaned with this foam. Residues are also washed off with wet wipes. However, it will take a very long time to dry the interior, so plan such activities on the weekends when you do not need a car.
For velor surfaces, as well as for fabric, “Silica Gel” is very well suited.
It dissolves any stains on the upholstery very well. Just apply it to the contaminated area, let it stand for a while, and wipe it off with dry wipes.
A good way to protect seat upholstery from stains is to buy the simplest fabric covers. Their advantages are that they are very cheap, they serve well, and they can be washed at any time in an ordinary washing machine with all the rest of the clothes. At the same time, you will save on special cleaning products, since you can use the cheapest washing powder.
The most difficult to clean are seats upholstered with fleecy fabrics, because a lot of different dust and dirt is hidden between the fibers, which you, moreover, breathe. Steam vacuum cleaners and steam generators have proven themselves very well in this case. You can vacuum the seats first, then apply the gel and wash it off after a while, and then go through the steam generator.
