How to connect fog lights. General principle

Knowing how to connect fog lights may be needed when replacing weak PTFs with more powerful ones. Of course, you can contact the service station, where specialists will do this, it is quite possible to learn how to connect fog lights with your own hands.

What you need to connect fog lights

  • tools - wire cutters, knife, pliers, terminal block;
  • consumables - electrical tape (only blue), plastic clamps, heat shrink connecting and mass terminals, machine corrugation;
  • Materials - 15 amp fuse, PTF block, power button, wires, insulation.

How to connect fog lights

in order to connect the PTF, you will need to remove the central panel in order to gain access to the on-board electrical network.

First, do, and then connect the connectors to the fog lights and screw the massive (black in the diagram) wire, using the terminal, onto the body. Bring the positive one (it is green in the diagram) to the battery area, since it will be connected to the relay to terminal 30.

Attach the relay and connect the wires. Connect to the battery, through the fuse, the red wire, which is 87 in the diagram, and the black (86) to the body through the terminal or to the negative of the battery. Run the blue control wire into the passenger compartment.

Now install the PTF power button and select the type of inclusion... Independent connects to dimensions or to constant + ACC. True, you can completely plant the battery if you forget to turn off the foglights.

To use only the ignition on, you need to find the “+” of the ignition switch or IGN1 (you can use IGN2, which is also better).

For greater safety and aesthetics, it is better to pack non-standard wiring in a corrugation
