How to use the lift?
Removing tacks from upholstery
Step 1 - Align the lifter with the nail
Align the V-shaped forked blade of your nail picker with the nail you want to remove.
Step 2 - Insert the nail lifter under the head of the nail
The forked blade of the tack lifting tool should pass on either side and under the head of the upholstery tack.
Step 3 - Apply Leverage
Once you place the tack lifter under the tack head, applying downward force to the handle will create a leverage and lift the tack holder from the material it is embedded in.
Repeat this process until all buttons are removed.
Top part
If you're having trouble with a particularly stubborn tack, use a lifting mechanism along with a hammer or mallet to make the job a little easier.
Align the tack lifter with the tack head as usual, then tap the end of the handle with a hammer or mallet. This will help to place the blade under the head of the potholder and loosen it just enough to be able to pull it out.
Removing carpet tacks
Step 1 - Align the forked blade with the carpet mitt.
Position the nail picker so that its forked blade is in line with the nail you want to remove.
Step 2 - Put mittens under the head
Insert the forked blade under the head of the pot holder (this may require a little wiggle).
Step 3 - Apply Force Down
Once the forked tack lifter blade is under the tack head, apply downward force to the handle and the lever created by the 45° angle will begin to lift the tack off the floor and carpet.
Step 4 - Remove the tack
Complete the movement of the lever until the tack is fully raised. Repeat this process for all the buttons you want to remove.
Removing Staples
Step 1 - Insert Prong Under Bracket
To remove a brace from a piece of furniture or material, slide one of the pointed pins under the brace (this may require a bit of digging into the material, so be careful not to damage the furniture).
Step 2 - Loosen the brace
Once one prong is under the brace, you can loosen it a bit by rocking the prongs back and forth.
Step 3 - Raise the brace
Push down on the handle, and the lever created by the curved staple remover blade will allow you to pull the staple out of the material. Repeat this process until all necessary staples have been removed.
