How to get certified as a Lincoln dealer

If you are an automotive mechanic looking to improve and gain the skills and certifications that Lincoln dealerships and other service centers are looking for, you may want to consider becoming a Lincoln Dealer Certification. If you want to be an auto mechanic, Lincoln and Ford have teamed up with the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) to develop a program to repair Lincoln and Ford vehicles.

Ford Accelerated Creation Training (FACT)

Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT) UTI is a 15-week course focused on Ford and Lincoln vehicles and equipment. You can earn up to 10 Ford Instructor-Led Training certifications, as well as 80 online certifications and 9 Ford Specialty Certification areas. You will also have the opportunity to earn a Quick Lane certification by completing Ford's Light Repair Technician and Quick Service course.

What will you learn

While studying at FACT, you will learn about fuels and emissions, basic electrical engineering and engines. You will also become familiar with the FACT standards, operations and procedures currently in use in this area.

You will receive additional training:

  • electrical and Electronics

  • Learn about fuel injection, diesel fuel and direct injection turbocharging. This includes the 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L Ford Powerstroke engines.

  • Advanced training in Ford electronic and electrical systems, including SYNC training, networks, anti-theft systems, module reprogramming, additional restraints, multiplexing, speed control and navigation.

  • The climate control course is designed to teach students how to diagnose and maintain modern high-tech air conditioning systems.

  • Learn about Ford Electronic Steering and Suspension, including diagnostic tools and special procedures.

  • Learn to perform inspections as well as maintenance and light repairs on existing vehicles using Ford Quick Lane procedures.

  • Get hands-on experience with Ford SOHC, OHC and DOHC engines.

  • Learn how to measure critical clearances along with proper disassembly and reassembly

  • Learn how to diagnose and service new and old Ford brake systems.

  • Using the latest test equipment, including the MTS4000 EVA, you will learn the principles of NVH and vibration frequencies.

  • Engine theory and performance

  • Learn about the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) for Exhaust, Air Fuel and Exhaust systems.

  • Training Ford Specialists on Quick Service and Easy Repair

Practical experience

FACT provides its students with hands-on experience. While participating in the 15-week program, you will also receive Ford Quick Service and Easy Repair training. This includes vehicle maintenance as well as security and multi-point checks. Your instructors will focus on teaching and preparing for the ASE certification throughout your stay at FACT.
