On many models of trigger clamps, the jaws can be reversed to allow the tool to be used as a spreader. To flip the jaws, simply follow these steps. | |
Step 1 – Release the Fixed JawTo turn the clamp into a spreader, the fixed jaw must be removed and turned over. The jaw will be attached to the bar with either a screw or a button. | |
To release the jaw, simply unscrew the screw or press the button until it loosens. | |
Step 2 - Remove the Fixed JawOnce released, the fixed jaw can be removed from the rod by sliding it. | |
Step 3 - Replace the jawThen turn the jaw in the opposite direction and install it on the rod at the opposite end. | |
Step 4 - Attach the jawReattach the jaw to the bar, either by sliding it into place until the button clicks, or by securing it by tightening the screw. The jaws are now reversed and the device can be used to spread the workpiece. |
