How to turn on a motorcycle?

The trajectory is very important for a motorcycle, it is enough to make a bad turn and we will be out of the circle, which can be more or less dangerous depending on the speed at which we are riding. For experienced riders, the corner became childish, and for the less experienced, it became a source of stress.

Today we will give you advice on how to properly operate your motorcycle.

A few tips to help you get on track

Optimal driving position

The position of the pilot is very important, his knees must be correctly positioned, his feet must be well set, etc. It is very important for the driver to control his car, his position allows the motorcycle to follow the correct path and remain stable.

Legs must remain in line... The wider part of the foot should be on the toe of the motorcycle. As is often the case in driving school, do not put your feet in a “crouch” or other position, because your feet are the ones that determine the angle of rotation.

Knees should be snug against the motorcycle.... this will allow you to feel the balance of your motorcycle and be able to control its lean to the desired trajectory.

Hands should be on the wheel... While the upper body is not the most important part of a motorcycle, it still allows you to turn the handlebars in the direction you want. The body should not be tight, you should be flexible.

Look

After the rider's position on the motorcycle, the second most important thing is appearance. The gaze allows your brain to assimilate the road and the corners so you can make the right turns.

It is the gaze that guides your movements.

Control your trajectory and speed

This last tip is suitable for all types of riders, be careful not to go too fast.

Deceleration is performed before a turn when you are in a straight line. Take your time, you may end up in the background.

A motorcycle is entertainment, not a means to hurt yourself or kill yourself.

Make a turn

Motorcycle turns are a real pleasure for bikers. The feeling they create is indescribable, but we must not forget that turning is not a trivial act.

  • In a straight line, the motorcycle moves in the center of the lane, if there is a car in front of you, you will be slightly displaced.
  • To drive safely, you must be able to stop in an open space in front of you, respecting safe distances.
  • Your gaze should be directed as far as possible in the chosen direction, it is he who will direct you.

Right turn

  • Wait for a turn before reaching it, move towards the center of the road. Be careful not to get too close to the middle axis!
  • Stay upright and slow down. It is advisable to look as far as possible. Quickly see the end of the turn.
  • Lean inward to stay on the corner!
  • When you get to the end of your turn, decrease your bank.
  • Once you return to the upright position, you can resume acceleration and continue to move carefully.

Left turn

  • Drive to the side of the road without exaggeration so as not to roll off the road.
  • Reduce speed, the motorcycle should be upright so you can look into the distance and see the exit as soon as possible.
  • Don't get too close to the midline, this is a safety issue.
  • You need to master your speed so as not to be in the background. Drive carefully.
  • At the end of the turn, you need to stay in the center of the lane, straightening the bike and gradually accelerating.
