How to prevent car theft?

Use all possible tips and don't make it easy for thieves to steal your car. Never leave valuables in plain sight, even if your car is closed, such things make them stand out and your car is in the view of criminals.

Car theft continues to rise and it is becoming increasingly unsafe to leave your car parked on the street for a minute. This is a terrible fact for all of us who have a car.

This is why prevention is better than cure; this should be your method of prevention if you don't want to be the next person to have your car stolen.

Millions more cars will be stolen this year, according to the automobile departments of many countries. But you will definitely not be among those unlucky car owners if you remember the following tips. 

1.- Never be careless 

More than 50% of car thefts occur due to driver forgetfulness; leaves the car running, or forgets the key in the ignition, or sometimes forgets to lock the garage door or the car door. 

2.- Don't leave windows open

Be sure to close the windows, take the key, and lock the door before leaving the car unattended. Another useful tip is parking safety. 

3.- Park in safe places 

Make sure parking is ok. lit. The wheels must be turned to the side on driveways in the parking position so that it cannot be easily towed. 

4.- Remove the fuse

If you leave the car for a long time, turn it off by removing the electronic ignition fuse, coil wire or distributor rotor.

4.- Anti-theft device

To exceed your anti-theft measures, invest in a range of anti-theft devices for maximum protection. Common anti-theft devices include; fuel switches, ignition switches, car alarms, steering wheel locks and immobilizers. 

5.- GPS system

A GPS positioning system that requires a little more investment but a lot more security. With a vehicle tracking system, a vehicle can be tracked on a computer map at a central monitoring station. Some of the systems come with a verbal communication feature with the operator at the central station. This feature is very helpful, especially in cases of car theft.
