How To: Turn your Samsung Galaxy tablet into an in-dash GPS and music player for your car
There is nothing wrong with driving an old car, but one problem that many people have is that as mobile devices become more advanced, it becomes more and more difficult to use them in older cars. a few years ago. Redditor soccerplaya2090 decided to go even further by installing his Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus on the center console to use it to control music. And what's even better? It can stream Pandora, display the weather forecast, and with Google Maps, it effectively becomes free GPS.
After removing the display area, he attached a plastic mount to the back of the tablet using Velcro.
He also connected a wire to the amplifier switch so he could turn the subwoofer on and off from the driver's seat.
It is connected to a head unit with a single DIN receiver that connects the charger to the USB port and an auxiliary cable to the headphone jack. When he starts the car, it automatically turns on Wi-Fi so he can connect it to his phone, and he plans to add another cigarette lighter power supply to keep it charged.
