How to join Hertz to save on car rentals
If you regularly rent cars from Hertz, it may be wise to join the car rental company's rewards club. Members can earn points to use towards free days of rent and other discounts without paying any membership fees.
Other membership perks include services that allow you to bypass waiting in line at the counter, such as the e-refund service, which allows you to fill out paperwork electronically and simply leave the keys to your rental in a designated and secure receptacle.

Part 1 of 1: Become a Hertz Club Member
Step 1. Visit the Hertz website. Click on the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards tab in the upper right corner of your browser screen to learn more about membership benefits, view answers to frequently asked questions, or go straight to joining a club.
Each of these options is available from a drop-down menu, and you can return to this initial screen after selecting one of the options by pressing the back button on your browser.
Step 2: Click "Join" to access the registration form.. Once you have reviewed the benefits of Hertz Club membership and are sure you want to become a part of it, select the Browse/Join option from the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards drop-down menu and then click Join Now. Free" to access the online registration form.
Complete the first step of mandatory registration by providing your personal details, including your name, date of birth and driver's license number.
Keep in mind that you must be over 21 to join.
Then click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page to enter additional information.
Step 3: Enter your contact details. Enter an email address to be used as the Hertz Club user ID and choose a password. Then enter at least one phone number.
Hertz also provides the option to sign up to receive text notifications of any future rental bookings you may have, and to the previously mentioned eReturn program, which allows you to electronically return your rental vehicles. These programs are optional.
Click the Continue button at the bottom of the page to continue.
Step 4: Continue entering the requested information and click Continue.. There are six pages before completing the Hertz online registration process.
In addition to your address and other general information, Hertz requires that you link a valid credit card, not a debit card, to your account in order to cover any charges you may incur in the future. When you have completed the six pages, click the Continue button one last time. You will be taken to a confirmation page telling you that the process has been completed and that your Hertz Club Membership Card will be mailed to you.
- FunctionsA: If you do not want to register for a Hertz membership online, you can complete the process by calling 800-654-3131 or visiting a Hertz rental store in person. You will still need to provide the same information and a valid credit card as you did when registering online, but you won't have to worry about any sensitive data being intercepted by a third party.
There are three levels of membership in the Hertz Rewards Club. The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Program is completely free and provides benefits such as Fast Rental Service, the ability to earn Reward Points for free services and discounts, and access to exclusive email offers.
