A threaded screw connected to the jaws passes through the vise body and its movement is controlled by a handle located at the outer end of the vise.
Pressure is applied by a handle through a screw, which then moves the sliding jaw. When rotated counterclockwise, the handle moves the movable jaw away from the fixed jaw and opens the gap between them. Then, on the contrary, when rotated clockwise, the handle moves the movable jaw closer to the fixed jaw, thereby closing them together.
The jaws gathered around the workpiece firmly hold the desired object so that operations such as sawing, drilling, gluing and pouring can be performed on it.
