How does vice work?

A vise has two parallel jaws that work together to firmly grip an object and hold it in place.
How does vice work? One jaw is fixed, as it is attached to the fixed part of the vise body, and the other jaw is movable.
How does vice work?A threaded screw connected to the jaws passes through the vise body and its movement is controlled by a handle located at the outer end of the vise.
How does vice work?Pressure is applied by a handle through a screw, which then moves the sliding jaw. When rotated counterclockwise, the handle moves the movable jaw away from the fixed jaw and opens the gap between them. Then, on the contrary, when rotated clockwise, the handle moves the movable jaw closer to the fixed jaw, thereby closing them together.
How does vice work? The jaws gathered around the workpiece firmly hold the desired object so that operations such as sawing, drilling, gluing and pouring can be performed on it.
