How to place luggage in the car during a long journey?

The winter ski season has already begun. During such an escapade, you should carefully place your luggage in the car. Then solutions that allow you to properly arrange suitcases and bags will come in handy.

– Remember that ski equipment should not move freely. The equipment must be properly secured with nets or lashing straps so that it cannot be moved. In the event of sudden braking or a collision, ill-fitting vehicles will behave like a rushing projectile that can injure the driver and passengers,” explains Radoslav Jaskulsky, an instructor at the AutoSkoda School, and adds: “During the movement, loose luggage can shift and lead to a change in the center of gravity and , as a result, a change in gauge. It should also be remembered that the load does not prevent the driver from driving and does not block the visibility of lights, license plates and direction indicators.

Car manufacturers are meeting these needs and trying to design their cars in such a way that they are as functional as possible. Skoda offers many smart solutions. The Czech manufacturer has long introduced a number of elements into its cars that make it easier to travel and store luggage - from an elastic cord that holds a newspaper to the back of the seat, to an ingenious seat folding mechanism.

Before we start packing luggage in the car, let's first look at how to arrange luggage in the car. It is about both safety and practical aspects. For example, it's good to have drinks and sandwiches on the road within easy reach. In Skoda showrooms, you can find a variety of cupholders or holders for bottles or cans. However, if there are too many bottles, it is better to keep them in the trunk for safekeeping. Skodas are equipped with special organizers in which bottles can be placed in an upright position. These organizers can also be used for other purposes, for example, to transport various small things there so that they do not move in the trunk.

All Skoda models have had hooks in the trunk for a long time. You can hang a bag or a fruit net on them. The bag hook can also be found in the interior on the glove compartment opposite the front passenger. This solution can be used by drivers of, for example, Fabia, Rapid, Octavia or Superb models.

A functional solution is a double floor of the luggage compartment. Thus, the luggage compartment can be divided into two parts, and flat items can be placed under the floor. However, if this arrangement of the trunk is not needed, an additional floor can be placed on the bottom of the trunk.

In addition, Skoda is equipped with nets for securing luggage. They can be vertical and horizontal, hung on the trunk floor, side walls or under the trunk shelf.

During a winter ski trip, you will also need a double-sided mat on which you can lay your snow-covered ski boots. Such a mat can be found in the Octavia and Rapid models. On the one hand, it is covered with a fabric designed for everyday use, and on the other hand, it has a rubber surface that is resistant to water and dirt, which can be quickly washed under running water.
