How to dent a car with a plunger

Paying to have someone fix a small dent on your car can be expensive, especially when you realize you can just do it yourself. If you have a bathroom—and you probably do—then it's safe to bet you also have a plunger.

Still on board? Well, you can use this plunger to remove small to medium sized dents from your car! Obviously this method won't work for sharp or very large dents, but for all small and small dents, it's worth pulling out the old piston and giving it a try.

How to fix a dent in a car

All you have to do is pour some water on the plunger of the cup (which is for the sink...it won't work with the flanged version for toilets) and on the dent itself, and then start cleaning it as if you were draining the water. .

In the video above and the screenshots below, you can see what the dent looked like before using the piston (left) and after (right). A few small dents remain, but overall looks much better than before.

If the piston fails to suction, it's either because you're using the wrong piston, you're not using enough water, or the dent is too big to be removed with this method.
