How to make a spark plug gap with a feeler gauge?

	Step 1: Check if the gap is within specification Use a feeler gauge to make sure the spark plug gap is within your vehicle's specification. You may need to adjust the spark plug gap from the factory.
	Step 2 - Bend the Ground Electrode To change the gap, slightly bend the ground electrode away from or towards the center electrode.
	Step 3 - Use Other Tools If Needed Tools are available to adjust the spark plug gap, however sometimes a small hammer, wrench, or pliers can be used to slightly adjust the gap.
	Step 4 - Place the sensor between the electrodes Recheck the gap by placing a feeler gauge between the two electrodes. The gap must be within the specifications of the vehicle in order for the spark plug to work effectively.
	Spark plugs in automobiles typically have a gap of 0.9 to 1.8 mm (0.035 to 0.070 inches).
