How to reduce fuel consumption - save gasoline and diesel car

The constant rise in gasoline prices makes many drivers think about saving. It has long been noticed at transport enterprises that cars driven by more than one driver can consume unequal amounts of fuel, that is, fuel consumption directly depends on the experience and skill of the driver.

There are simple rules that will help you save gas without resorting to some abstruse tricks: converting your car to liquefied gas or using fuel additives that supposedly help save gas.

So, the fuel consumption prescribed by the car manufacturer is rarely true, but not because the manufacturer is lying, but because the average car is rarely operated in ideal conditions. When driving around the city, try to follow these principles:

• fuel consumption increases if you pick up speed sharply from traffic light to traffic light and slow down at the stop line itself;
• follow the general speed limit, do not put pressure on the gas once again unnecessarily;
• approaching the next intersection, do not press the brakes, but gradually slow down, slowing down the engine;
• avoid traffic jams - it is better to drive slowly but surely along the bypass road, let the engine warm up, than crawl in a toffee at a speed of 5 km / h.

If you are driving on suburban highways, then the optimal speed limit is 80-90 km/h. The optimal number of revolutions of the crankshaft is 2800-3000 rpm, at such revolutions accelerate and gradually shift to higher gears. Having reached the mark of 80-90 km / h, the speed drops to 2000, with this indicator you can drive as long as you like. Change gears in time, driving on low leads to overrun, except when you have to overcome steep climbs and descents. Take advantage of the simple phenomenon of inertia.

The condition of the car and tires is not the last thing. Riding on "bald" tires or on off-season tires is the reason for the consumption of extra liters, as rolling resistance increases. Install tires of the size indicated in the instructions. Check tire pressure.

The level and quality of the oil must be constantly monitored, as well as the tightness of the gas tank cap, the health of the ventilation system and the vapor recovery system. Do not forget that consumers of electricity are the load on the generator. The deterioration of aerodynamic characteristics is the reason for additional consumption, for example, with open windows, air resistance increases, not to mention various decorative spoilers and fly swatters.
