Instructions for replacing a generator with a VAZ 2107

With many generator malfunctions that can happen on the VAZ 2107, you have to remove it completely in order to replace some parts. This article will describe in detail the process of replacing (removing) the generator on a VAZ 2107 car and other “classic” models.

Before describing the entire procedure for working, I will give the necessary list of tools that you will need:

1. Socket heads 17 and 19 mm
2. Extension bar and gimbal
3. Union bite 19
4. Hammer highly desirable

 

How to remove a generator on a VAZ 2107

First you need to open the hood and remove the terminal from the battery, you can negative. Then the nut securing the positive wires on the generator, as shown below:

And we disconnect the wire from the brushes and from the diode bridge (two plugs):

Then remove the belt generator drive for VAZ 2107, only after that you can continue to work.

To unscrew the tensioner nut quickly and without unnecessary problems, you must use a ratchet with cardan joints and head. If such a tool is not at hand, then you can try to do this with an open-end wrench.

 

Then we climb under the car and use a 19 key to unscrew the large mounting bolt from the bottom. This is how it all looks:

It is usually difficult to pull out the bottom bolt by hand, so you can knock it out with a hammer handle.

And you can finally pull it out with your hand, as shown below:

If the engine protection has been previously removed, then without any problems we take out the VAZ 2107 generator from below:
