Step 1 - Insert the blade into the slot

To cut a joint, turn the saw upside down and insert the bent tip into the gap between two boards.

Step 2 - Move the blade away from you

When you feel the blade making contact with the joint, begin to slowly push the saw away from you, applying very slight downward pressure in one long motion.

Step 3 - Raise the floorboard

After the joint has been cut, you can lift the floorboard with a wide chisel.
