How to draw up a traffic accident scheme yourself? Without traffic cops for insurance
If you have been involved in an accident, then in order to receive all insurance payments, you must draw up an accident scheme. Usually, traffic police inspectors are involved for this. However, recently in Russia it became possible to receive compensatory OSAGO payments according to the European protocol, that is, without the involvement of the traffic police.
As you know, the number of cars on our roads is constantly growing, but the quality of training in driving schools leaves much to be desired. We already wrote on Vodi.su that the cost and terms of training in driving schools in Russia have increased significantly since 2015 - perhaps this will help improve the situation on the roads.
Nevertheless, the number of accidents, both large and small, rolls over. That is why it was decided to introduce a European protocol, so that once again the traffic police would not be distracted if a minor accident occurred.
In what cases is it allowed to register an accident according to the European protocol without the traffic police:
- no more than two cars collided;
- no physical harm was done to anyone;
- both participants in the accident have an OSAGO policy;
- the drivers reached an agreement on the spot.
An important point: the European protocol will be accepted as a supporting document if the amount of damage does not exceed 50 thousand rubles for the regions of Russia or 400 thousand for Moscow and St. Petersburg (this provision came into force in August 2014, and before that the amount should not have exceeded 25 thousand ).
Although, if you read the new OSAGO rules, it becomes clear that you can not count on 50 or 400 thousand if at least one of the participants in the accident had an OSAGO policy issued before August 2014. In this case, you can only count on 25 thousand compensation.
Total: if you had an accident, no one was physically injured, the amount of damage does not exceed 25, 50 or 400 thousand, and you were able to agree on the spot, then you can issue an accident without the traffic police.
Drawing up a scheme of an accident on your own
First of all, please note that the European protocol (accident notification) cannot be filled out with blots or corrections, so first write everything down and draw it on a separate sheet of paper. Photographs can be attached to the Europrotocol, so capture all the important moments using any available photo and video equipment.
After that, strictly follow the points of the European protocol:
- make sure that the form of the document is valid;
- designate vehicles - A and B - each of them has its own column (each side indicates its own data);
- mark with a cross all the appropriate items in the middle column "Circumstances";
- draw a diagram of the accident - there is enough space in the protocol for this.
A typical road accident scheme is drawn up quite simply: it needs to depict an intersection or that part of the roadway where the accident occurred. Schematically indicate the cars at the moment after the accident, as well as the direction of their movement with arrows. Display all road signs, you can also specify traffic lights, house numbers and street names. On both sides of the field for the accident diagram there are schematic images of cars on which you need to indicate the point of initial impact.
Items from the 14th to the 17th must be filled in the same way, which will confirm the agreement between the participants in the accident.
The front side is self-copying, so it is better to fill in with a ballpoint pen so that everything is well copied. It does not matter whose form is used, as each driver writes information about his insurance company. You also need to clearly and completely describe the damage: a bumper scratch, a dent in the left fender, and so on. In addition, fill in the middle column very carefully and mark the necessary boxes: do not confuse stopping at a traffic light with parking. The reverse side of the document each driver fills out independently.
After filling in and fully agreeing on all the details, you need to contact the insurance company within a certain period in accordance with the requirements of the OSAGO agreement. Managers will inspect the car to verify the information specified in the notice and make a decision on insurance payments. Therefore, in no case do not start repairing a car on your own until a decision on insurance payments is made.
In principle, there is nothing complicated in filling out the European Protocol, you just need to fill it out very carefully, without blots, in legible handwriting and in understandable language.
