Step 1 - Choose a JointerChoose a square or round jointer. | ||
Use the end of the jointer that you have identified as the correct radius for the mortar gap. | ||
Step 2 - Hold the middle partHold the middle part of the jointer between your thumb and forefinger. | ||
Step 3 - Align the JointerAlign the jointer so that it is ready to compact the mortar between the bricks. Grooves will be created on the sides of the jointer, resulting in a convex square or round bead in the center. | ||
Step 4 - DockingPerform smooth butt movements, working in the same direction. Instrumental vertical seams followed by horizontal seams. | ||
Finished bead stitches look like this. This design is mainly used for restoration and stone work. |
