How to drive a Peugeot 308 with an automatic transmission (transmission)

Peugeot 308 ALLURE SW (2015, 2016 and 2017 model year for Europe) details how to drive with automatic transmission - transmission.

The Peugeot 308 has a six-speed automatic transmission with two driving modes, sport and snow modes, or you can choose manual gear shifting.

You can use the sport program for more dynamic driving or the snow program to improve driving when traction is not very good.

When moving the gear lever in the gate to select the position, this symbol appears on the instrument panel. In this way, you will always know in what position of the witch you are now.

With your foot on the brake, select P or N, then start the engine.

Release the parking brake if it is not programmed for automatic mode. By the way: this is a great feature and I use it all the time. Select position D. Gradually release the brake pedal. And you are moving.

The Peugeot 308 gearbox operates in auto-adaptive mode. This means you don't have to do anything. It always selects the most suitable gear according to your driving style, road profile and vehicle load. The gearbox shifts automatically or remains in the same gear until the maximum engine speed is reached. When braking, the transmission will automatically downshift to provide the most effective engine braking.

Before turning off the engine, you can select position P or N if you wish to put the transmission into neutral. In both cases, apply the parking brake, unless of course it is programmed for automatic mode.
