How to install daytime running lights? Daytime running lights are becoming more and more popular among drivers. Their installation is so easy that you can try to assemble them yourself. If we choose to do so, be sure to select only approved products.

Installing daytime running lights is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. To carry it out correctly, basic tools such as a screwdriver and screwdriver are sufficient. How to install daytime running lights?

However, first you need to decide on the model and manufacturer. When buying, you should carefully look at the headlights. They must be appropriately marked to prove that they can be used in Poland. The plafond must be embossed with the letters RL (not DRL!), which indicate the daytime running lights, as well as the letter E with the approval number.

There are many daytime running lights on the market. However, not all of them are approved and suitable for operation. Both in the traditional market and on the Internet, there are still products without approval, the quality of which leaves much to be desired. Therefore, the purchase of DRLs should be made only in trusted places and well-known companies.

Before starting installation, check if all the items are in the box, then read the instructions and make sure that no additional tools are needed.

The headlights must be tried on on the vehicle to determine the height at which they should be installed. It was expressly stated in the regulations! DRLs should not be installed higher than 1500 mm and less than 200 mm from the ground, and the distance between luminaires should be at least 600 mm.

With a vehicle width of less than 1300 mm, the distance between the lamps must be 400 mm. They must not protrude beyond the contour of the vehicle and must be installed at a distance of 400 mm from the edge of the vehicle.

How to install daytime running lights?The next step is to try on the "clip" system, in which the headlights are attached to the car. The clamp bracket kit may require drilling additional holes for proper wiring. It is attached to the cover with screws. Then the power cables are laid in such a way that they do not protrude anywhere. After hiding the cables, reconnect them.

Now it's time for the wiring. First, connect the daytime running light wires to the battery terminals. The next step is to find the parking lights wiring harness and connect them to the Philips DRL module responsible for the headlights (observing the polarity). Attach the module itself and connect the daytime running light cable to it.

After installation is complete, make sure the DRL kit is installed correctly. This can be done in a simple way. When the ignition is turned on, the daytime running lights should automatically turn on, and when switching to the dimensions or low beam, the DRLs should turn off.
