How to install LED lighting under the car

Downlighting draws attention and gives your car a futuristic look. Install the LED lighting by yourself with the LED lighting kit.

Under car lighting can make any car look cool. It gives your car a futuristic look, making it look like a scene from a sci-fi movie. Car underbody LEDs come in a wide variety of colors and you can install them yourself. While it may seem complicated, the overall concept is simple and with a little patience and effort it will be a welcome addition to your vehicle.

Part 1 of 1: Install LED lighting

Necessary materials

  • Protective gloves
  • Repair manuals
  • Safety glasses
  • LED lighting kit under the car
  • Ties

Step 1: Attach the LEDs to the car. Install the LED strip under the car.

Find a fixing method, such as bolts or brackets, and temporarily fix the strip with LED strip. Use zip ties to securely fasten the LED strip to the vehicle. Tie-downs should normally be placed about every foot under the vehicle.

Step 2: Pull the wires into the engine compartment. Run the wires under the vehicle and into the engine compartment.

Step 3: Connect the wires to the module. Place the module in the engine compartment and connect the wires to it.

Step 4: Connect the module wires to the power supply. Connect the module power cable to the positive battery terminal using the fasteners included in the kit.

Step 5: Connect Module Wires to Ground. Connect ground wires to chassis ground.

Make sure the ground contact point is clean and free of rust and/or paint.

Step 6: Install the Modular Box. Mount the modular box somewhere in the engine bay in a cool, dry and clean area.

Extend the antenna on the module so that it receives a signal even when the cover is closed.

Step 7: Install the Switch. If your kit does not use a wireless module, you will have to use a switch to control it.

First, drill a hole and install the switch. Choose an easily accessible location.

Step 8: Run the LED wires into the cabin.. Route the LED wiring from the engine compartment to the vehicle interior.

To do this, you will have to go through the firewall. The easiest way to do this is to find a grommet already in the firewall and poke a hole in it for the wires.

Step 9: Connect the switch to a power source. This can be done with a safety valve.

Step 10: Connect the LED kit wiring to ground.. Connect the LED kit wiring to chassis ground. Make sure the ground contact point is clean and free of rust and/or paint.

Step 11: Test the system to make sure it works. Lights must glow and be clearly visible.

Nothing transforms a car quite like lighting. Now your car will attract attention wherever you go, and when people ask where you worked, you can say that you did it yourself. If your battery starts behaving unusually or the indicator lights up, contact one of the AvtoTachki specialists.
