Like the impressive trailer that Toyota created with a box from Tacoma

Toyota is building a real mini-house in the open air with a shower and toilet included in the Tacoma kit.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, SEMA has gone virtual this year, and along with the targa-topped Supra, it's trotting out what it calls the TRD Sport Trailer, a landing pad made from the bed of a Tacoma, a creation really impressive.

Built by Marty Schwerter and his team at Motorsports Garage, the Tacoma-based trailer provides a base camp for those seeking an outdoor home away from home, a product that has become more popular, according to Toyota, as a result of the pandemic. Toyota says overland travel is rapidly gaining popularity for much the same reason RVs are making a comeback. It's a socially distant way to get out of the house, something we could probably all use right now.

A senior R&D manager at Toyota spotted a trailer made from Tacoma at the Overland Expo West in Arizona. The TRD sport trailer is equipped with a scissor lift that can lift the body several feet up and away from the body. It includes a XNUMX person Yakima tent with canopy and rod holders, fridge and freezer, mobile shower with curtain and water heater.

It also features a generator, an Optima Yellow Top battery, multiple LEDs for A-series hard accessories to illuminate impromptu outdoor excavations, a fresh water tank and a gray water tank holding 16 and over 15 gallons of H2O each, a sink and stove slider, a waste bin and, of course, a gold-plated toilet seat.

also partnered with Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's to equip the Taco Trailer with outdoor gear such as fishing tackle, fishing boots, coffee mugs and utensils. The Toyota TRD Sport Trailer is lifted off the ground by TRD Pro wheels wrapped in 3-piece General Grabber X285 tires.

In the following video, Schwerter explains all the wonders a Toyota trailer has to offer.
