How do you use a fencing pin?
Content
Step 1 - Measure the areaThe pins must be placed at regular intervals, either 1 meter apart or 2, 3, 4 or up to every 5 meters apart. Measure the area to decide how many pins you will need and how much fencing/tape/bunting/rope to use.
Step 2 - Insert the pin into the groundWhen using oatmeal, ribbon, or rope, first stick the pointed end of each pin into the ground at regular intervals until they are upright and secure. You may need to use a hammer. Insert the pin approximately 0.22 m into the ground or until it is stable.
Or, if you are using wire mesh, place the pins on the ground at regular intervals and then roll the wire mesh behind the pins. Then, taking each pin in turn, thread through the mesh.
Step 3 - Hang the RibbonHang ribbon, string, or bunting by tying it around the hook of the first pin. Keep it taut as you move on to the next pin, and so on until the end.
Or, by threading the guard post through the mesh guard, place the first pin vertically with the mesh guard attached and now press the pin into the ground. Continue until all pins and mesh are in place.
Step 4 - Trim Excess MeshWhen you get to the last pin, use your scissors to cut off any excess mesh, ribbon, bunting, or rope. You now have a temporary fence.
