Before you start | |
Set DepthBefore you begin, make sure the brick rake is set to the desired depth. | |
Make sure the shovel bolt is securely tightened so you don't lose the strong pin! To learn how to set the depth see our section: How to adjust the cutting depth on a brick rake. | |
Using a brick rake | |
Step 1 - Grab the handleHold the handle of the brick rake parallel to the "beds" (horizontal lines) of the mortar. | |
Step 2 - Apply PressureAs you begin to move the tool, push down to scrape off the grout. Try to maintain even pressure on the tool during operation. | |
Step 3 – Along the beds down the criminalsMove the tool along the "beds" and down the "criminals". | |
Step 4 - Move side to sideMove the tool from side to side, scraping off the solution evenly. | |
Step 5 - Walk downYou must work on the higher sections first and then work down the wall when removing the grout. This way, after you work on the area, it will remain clean. | |
