If you are just going to the first motorcycle inspection, you should find out exactly how it will look. What should I pay attention to before joining the site? What components should be inspected and replaced as necessary to keep your vehicle running? Find out what a motorcycle inspection looks like and what expenses you need to prepare for!

Motorcycle review - what is it?

Inspection of the motorcycle is mandatory as required by applicable law. It was created in its current form in 2015. During it, among other things, it is checked whether the vehicle is legal according to the law. What does it mean? If the motorcycle is damaged or the odometer has rolled back, this should be revealed during the inspection. The data will be entered into the CEPiK system, thanks to which the buyer will be able to check the mileage of the car and find out about its technical problems. Of course, the tests also check the overall condition of the motorcycle.

Motorcycle review - price

How much does a motorcycle inspection cost?? Can you even afford it? You don't have to worry, it really doesn't matter much. At the moment, you will need to pay exactly PLN 63, of which PLN 1 is the CEPiK fee. However, before visiting the technical inspection station, it is worth checking the general condition of your car. Change oil and worn parts if necessary. You will have to pay for materials and mechanical work. However, it is undeniable that running a car costs money, and sometimes it takes a little investment before an inspection to make the engine fit to drive.

The Periodic Motorcycle Inspection also includes photographs

From January 2021, motorcycle inspection includes photography. They will be stored in the system for the next 5 years. Thanks to them, you can always check its condition and compare the appearance if there are any doubts about the vehicle. Photos also include an odometer with visible status. However, this is not the only change that has come into effect recently. If you are more than 30 days late, you will be charged a missed inspection fee.

Motorcycle inspection - don't be afraid to ride early

Drivers very often postpone inspection of their car until the last day of validity of previous inspections. If you go for a test 30 days before the final date, the one you had so far will not change. This means that if the car was due for an inspection no later than January 20, 2022, and you went to collect it on January 10, you will still have to have the next inspection on January 20, 2023, and not 10 days earlier. This is undoubtedly a positive change that all drivers should appreciate.

The first inspection of the motorcycle takes place according to other rules.

The inspection is usually carried out once a year, but there are exceptions to this rule. When you buy a new car, you don't have to worry about maintenance as often. Zero Motorcycle Inspection:

  • this will have to be done up to 3 years from the date of registration, which means you can not rush at all;
  • it will be valid for 2 years if 5 years have not passed since the vehicle was started.

This is one of the really big benefits of owning a new car, and it also makes a lot of sense. After all, new cars break down less often and are safer, so checking them every year is pointless. Moreover, most manufacturers offer at least 3 years of warranty.

What should I do if my motorcycle inspection does not go according to plan?

Sometimes it just happens that the motorcycle does not pass inspection. This could have been caused by carelessness or inattention, but either way, you will need to act quickly if you want to continue driving your vehicle. First of all, you must remember that at present such problems are recorded in the CEPiK system and you will not be helped by contacting another technical inspection point. So what to do? You are responsible for fixing the problem found on your motorcycle within the next 14 days.

No motorcycle inspection - what is the penalty?

Inspection of a motorcycle is the responsibility of every driver and if the car breaks down, you can get a ticket. It can be up to 50 euros and these will not be the only consequences. In this situation, the police will confiscate your ID. If an accident occurs, even if you have purchased AC insurance, the insurer may refuse to pay you the money.

The motorcycle must be inspected annually if it is not a new machine. Remember that this is a commitment, and in case of any omissions, you will have to get rid of the problems. It's all about safety, so don't treat inspection as a necessary evil and take good care of your bike!
