How to replace the generator brushes on the VAZ 2107

One of the main reasons for the drop in charging on a VAZ 2107 car is the failure of the brushes with a voltage regulator. They usually run for quite a long time, but with sufficient wear and tear, the charge still disappears and they will need to be replaced. All the work is done quickly enough, and for greater clarity, I will show this repair on the generator removed from the car.

So, for this we need a Phillips screwdriver and that's it. The photo below shows the location of the brush holder:

We take a Phillips screwdriver and use it to unscrew one bolt securing the brushes to the generator:

After that, you can remove them from the seat:

Next, you need to check how much the brushes protrude, that is, their working area in height. Make sure it is at least 12 mm. If this value is not reached, then the brushes need to be replaced. It is also worth paying attention to the uniformity of wear:
