How to replace a retractor relay on a VAZ 2114-2115

The retractor relay is the most vulnerable place in the starter device on the VAZ 2114-2115, therefore, in most cases, it is necessary to replace this particular part. Symptoms of a malfunction can be different, ranging from the clicks of the relay and the inaction of the starter, and ending with a complete lack of response to turning the ignition key. You can replace the relay with your own hands, but for this you need to first remove the starter from the car. After that, you will need the following tools:

• Flat screwdriver
• head 13 end
• ratchet handle or crank

After the starter is removed from the car, it is necessary to unscrew the nuts securing the wire terminals, as clearly shown in the photo below:

Then we move the wire aside so that it does not interfere:

Then, from the back side, you need to unscrew two bolts with a screwdriver:

It is with the help of them that the relay is attached to the device. Then the retractor is removed without any difficulty:

It is possible that the bushing with the spring remains in engagement with the starter armature, and in this case, you can disconnect them later:

Next, you can install the retractor, obviously working, on the VAZ 2114-2115, in the reverse order. The price of a new part is about 500-600 rubles, depending on the manufacturer.
