The continuous rise in fuel prices has made LPG more and more popular. Gas installations are changing just like cars, and getting better, but, unfortunately, more and more expensive.

Several generations can be distinguished, and each of them is intended for a different group of engines. Using the wrong setting, i.e. excessive savings does not bode well.

More than 1,5 million Polish cars are already equipped with LPG installations. Therefore, the market is very large, and there are many factories that assemble such installations. This causes huge competition between them. Unfortunately, this is not a quality competition, but a price one. To attract the client, the price is reduced and simpler installations are offered, which, unfortunately, subsequently affects the quality of work. To avoid problems during operation, the installation must be correctly coordinated with the engine. Unfortunately, there is a simple relationship: the newer and more technologically advanced the engine, the more modern the installation. This, unfortunately, leads to an increase What HBO installation? costs and conflicts with the idea of savings for which we install LPG. But it costs more to invest, because the subsequent trouble-free operation will simply be the cheapest. Installing a mixing system in the last car does not bode well.

for carburetor

The lowest installation costs will be borne by owners of older cars equipped with a carburetor. For such engines, the simplest expansion plants without electronic control are used. They work just like a carburetor and have quite a few drawbacks, but with much lower running costs, they are acceptable.

With injection system

In engines with an injection system and a catalytic converter, the installation must be electronically controlled, which, unfortunately, increases the assembly cost. In older cars with a simple injection system and an aluminum intake manifold, you can install a second-generation unit, for which you will have to pay from 1500 to 1900 zł. These are indicative prices and also depend on whether the injection is single-point or multi-point. If the intake manifold is made of plastic, such a setup cannot be used due to the risk of damage to the manifold from repeated explosions. Also, this installation is not recommended if there is an air flow meter in the intake system. For such engines and for the latest designs with an extensive exhaust gas composition control system (also in addition to the catalytic converter), sequential gas injection should be used (from PLN 2900 to PLN 3200 for a 4-cylinder engine). Such a system is very similar to multi-point gasoline injection, it has electromagnetic nozzles, but LPG still enters the cylinders in the form of gas. The advantage of such an installation is the almost complete absence of power loss and engine torque. It is worth investing in a higher quality rig, as engine repairs will definitely be more expensive than the higher cost of buying a higher quality rig.

Also on the market are installations of the latest generation, in which gas is supplied in liquid form. Unfortunately, they are not very popular due to the high price (around PLN 6-7).
